White Tea Plant
Tea is a crop that has been cultivated for centuries. Made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, plant are cutting grown to ensure the same qualities as the parent - which is important if you are fussy about your brew. Used to make black tea, green tea, white tea and oolong tea, the treatment of the leaves and optimal harvest time will dictate your final product. Allow plants to eatblish to 1m before harvesting. Clip to maintain compact growth.
How to grow
Camellias prefer a moist, deep, humus rich soil with an acidic soil pH between 5.5 and 6.6. Position in partial shade with shelter from drying winds. Fertilise in spring with a balanced complete fertiliser. Tip prune young plants to encourage bushy growth. Tolerates pruning and performs well as a hedge.
