Shasta Daisy 'Shaggy Gem'
These 'Shaggy Gem' shasta daisies provide a wonderful addition to the mixed border where the large white blooms provide the perfect accompaniment to more brightly coloured flowers. Plant in large drifts for a spectacular display of long-lasting frilly blooms with bright yellow centres, attractive to all manner of pollinators in the garden. Vibrant, deep green foliage provides a sturdy, tidy clump that persists well after flowers have faded to add bulk and act as a backdrop to colourful perennials. Suits cottage, seaside or mixed planting schemes.
Remove spent flowerheads to prolong flowering. Propagate by division every 3-4 years in early spring. Plant en masse to help support the tall flower heads. Cut foliage to the ground as new growth emerges in spring.
