How to grow
Plant Salvia ‘Joan’ in a sunny position in well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Water regularly while establishing, after which it is relatively drought-tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage repeat flowering and prune back after flowering or in late winter to promote fresh, compact growth. Apply compost or an organic fertiliser in spring and avoid waterlogged conditions, particularly during winter.
