Rhubarb 'Winter Wonder' Crown

Selected from the market gardens around Melbourne, this variety stands up proud in the cooler months when most other rhubarbs are ready to be chopped back in preparation for their spring flush. Deep red at the base with smaller pointed leaves.
How to grow

Tolerant of frost and even snow, 'Winter Wonder' is a cold hardy rhubarb. Plant in a soil enriched with compost and well-rotted manure. Harvest stems by jerking the stem quickly to the side, tearing the stems off at the base of the plant. Never cut the stems using a knife. Remove any old or dead stems as required.
