Panicum virgatum 'Blue Steel'
A beautiful grass known for its blue grey foliage. Similar to Panicum Virgatum heavy metal but distinguished by its more relaxed habit. Suitable for planting in swathes paired with other perennials such as Echinacea, Eryngium and Rudbeckia. Provides a hazy backdrop for summer flowers. Foliage and seed heads fade to a golden colour in autumn and continue to add interest in cooler months.
How to grow
Cut back the old foliage to the ground in late winter to early spring. Drought and wet soil tolerant.
