Natural Fibre Basketry - 'A little art piece'- Adelaide - 4 April 2027

About this experience

Creating your own little piece of art is one of the most rewarding activities. Guided by artist and teacher Victoria Wilkins from BasketrySA, immerse yourself in the possibilities and beauty of this slow and mindful craft, and take home your own special and uniquely created art piece.

This workshop will provide participants with the designing techniques to create a small contemporary artwork using the traditional techniques of looping, wrapping and two-ply string making.  Led by Victoria and her BasketrySA colleague, you will use natural fibres sourced from our local gardens, and learn how to identify, harvest and prepare suitable foliage for future use.

Suitable for both beginners and experienced basket makers.

Please bring a small towel.

All art materials are provided. No experience necessary. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (a great workshop to do together).

Please note: Workshop will be held in the Goodman Lecture Theatre, Goodman Building at the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The nearest gate is on Hackney Road.

Please note: Member price will generate upon completion of order.
