Geranium Maderense
A giant geranium with large incised palmate leaves up to 25cm across, topped by a huge bronze stemmed bouquet of spectacular pink star-like flowers with dark centres and pale veins from late winter to Christmas. Perfect for creating a lush tropical look alongside New Zealand Lilies and Plectranthus in moist areas protected from harsh afternoon sun. Biennial.
Plant in full sun or light shade in moist, humus fertile, free-draining soil. A biennial, first year seedlings will flower the following year before completing its life cycle. Leave flowerheads to self seed for a succession of new plants each season. Water well during growing period, protect from hot afternoon sun and mulch root zone to retain moisture.
