Foxglove 'Canary Island'
Rarely offered for sale, this is a star of the Diggers range. Valued for its spectacular, long-flowering performance throughout summer, the Canary Island Foxglove is hard to beat for its elegant deep antique-golden to orange foxglove-like flowers on spikes up to 30cm, beautifully offset by its deep green, lance shaped foliage around reddish-brown new stems. A no fuss, wonderful garden backdrop plant for flower and foliage - if you can grow a fuchsia you can grow this one. Best of all, birds love it!
How to grow
Plant in a full sun/part shaded position in moist, free-draining soil. Enjoys protection from hot afternoon sun and supplementary watering during dry periods. Remove spent flower stems to encourage repeat flowering and prune to the basal rosette after flowering has finished. Attractive to birds.
