About this experience
Is there one plant that has always featured in your life? The pop of a Billy Button or the complexity of a Banksia flower, the elegance of a Gingko leaf or the energy of a Grevillea? Join visual artist Louise Flaherty in the Goodman Lecture Hall for a creative workshop to help capture your favourite plant.
During this workshop you will learn:
- Exercises to help draw and paint individual plants using white ink on black paper.
- Create both a collaborative drawing and an individual piece to take home.
- Learn through guided drawing exercises led by an experience artist.
- Experiment with different mark making techniques.
- A relaxed and playful way to reintroduce or introduce yourself to botanical drawing.
All art materials are provided. No experience necessary. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (a great workshop to do together).
Best suited for ages 10+
Please note: Workshop will be held in the Goodman Lecture Theatre, Goodman Building at the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The nearest gate is on Hackney Road.
