Eco-Oil
eco-oil is a registered organic miticide and insecticide used to control range of problem insects including scale, aphids, two-spotted mite, whitefly, mealybugs and citrus leafminer. Safe for use on vegies, as well as ornamentals, with no withholding period, you can safely spray and eat on the same day! Also safe for beneficial insects like bees, ladybeetles and earthworms.
HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil is a revolutionary approach to pest control and is the results of a 3 year research project with Charles Sturt University. The project investigated the natural defense mechanisms of plants, in particular the way plants produce volatile organic compounds when being attacked by pests. These compounds act as SOS messages to beneficial insects letting them know that tasty snacks are on nearby plants! A whole range of beneficial insects are attracted including ladybeetles, lacewings, hoverflies and parasitoids.
The HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil formulation replicates this defence mechanism by including these organic compounds into the spray. So use HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil to kill those troublesome pests and at the same time, attract beneficial insects to help get your garden ecosystem into better balance.

How to prepare: eco-oil is a botanical oil based miticide/insecticide that controls pests by contact. As such complete coverage of plants is important. For best results spray with eco-oil at the first sign of pest infestation. Repeat application may be necessary. Some plant species (like maidenhair ferns) are more sensitive than others so it is recommended that a pre-test be conducted on a small area of foliage before using. Do not exceed recommended dose rates.
How to mix:
1. Half fill the spray container with clean water.
2. Add the required amount of eco-oil, shake, then top up container with water and shake again.
Frequent agitation (shaking) of the spray solution is recommended during application.
Rate:
5-10ml of eco-oil to 1L of water depending on the pests and plants being treated. See the product label for more detailed advice.
