Echinops ‘Ritro Blue’
The golf ball-sized deep blue blooms sit atop stiff white stems and dissected grey-green foliage. It rewards with months of colour from late spring into autumn.
Echinops are hardy garden perennials that thrive in a free-draining soil. Improve soil to a depth of at least 30cm before planting, and if drainage is an issue, plant in raised beds. Divide every 3-4 years to maintain healthy vigorous growth and prolific flowering. Prune back after flowering in late autumn. Avoid waterlogged or wet soils.
