Easy to grow and quick to establish, Mulberries are tolerant of a range of soils but are best planted in a soil enriched with compost and decomposed manure. Stake at planting if your position is open to winds. Apply a mulch of compost annually, as well as Fruit and Citrus fertiliser in spring. Prune if required to control growth, or let it form its natural spreading shape and enjoy the shade. Mulberries fruit on new season growth so prune after harvest to ensure optimal new shoots t improve next year's crop.
