About this experience
Make the move to a more sustainable life by planning your own food forest for a South Australian climate. Chris Day, our experienced permaculture teacher, will cover all South Australian growing conditions, hills, plains (including coastal) and arid. Growing a diverse range of plants in different layers reduces weeds, minimises pests and drastically reduces maintenance, whilst providing a variety of edible harvests throughout the year. Food forests can be grown on different scales depending on the size of your property, from the smallest backyard to rural acreage.
During this workshop you will learn:|
- The best location of your food forest
- How best to irrigate your food forest
- What to consider when choosing your canopy trees
- Making sure you plant what your household likes to eat
- How to prepare your location for a food forest
- How to maintain your food forest
