Corn 'Glass Gem' (Organic)
A dazzling heirloom unlike any other, Glass Gem Corn produces jewel-like cobs that shimmer in every colour of the rainbow—purples, blues, pinks, oranges and golds. Each cob is a one-of-a-kind work of art, making it as beautiful as it is useful. Traditionally grown for popping or grinding into cornmeal, it also makes a stunning ornamental feature in the vegie patch. With tall, productive plants and a rich cultural history, this is the corn that stops visitors in their tracks.
Glass Gem corn grows best in full sun and rich, well-drained soil. Sow seeds directly into warm soil (above 20°C), spacing 20–30cm apart in blocks for good pollination. Water consistently, especially during flowering and cob formation. Harvest once husks dry and kernels harden. Allow cobs to dry further for popping or display.
