Cauliflower 'Sicily Purple'
A colourful Italian heirloom with brilliant purple heads and a mild, sweet flavour. The head cooks to green, but tastes great fresh from the garden. Less appealing to brassica pests. Harvest at 25 weeks.
Cauliflowers have similar needs to other brassicas, but are more demanding to grow. They insist on a pH of 6.5, plus they are also prone to clubroot, which makes the plant wither and turn yellow. Add lime to well manured soil and maintain moist growing conditions for the best results.
