Cape Chestnut 'Pink'
This attractive South African flowering tree will intoxicate with its sweetly-scented orchid-like flowers. From early summer, the glossy deep green foliage is smothered with fragrant spikes of sugar-pink blooms. Plant one as a dazzling specimen tree or plant en masse to create a dramatic formal avenue or windbreak. It produces dense shade from the widely-domed canopy. Deciduous or semi-evergreen in cool climates. Grows in coastal areas if protected from salt laden winds. Slow growth rate.
Plant in full sun, prefers free-draining soil with additional water when conditions are dry. Frost tender while young. Avoid waterlogged soils.
