About this experience
How best to capture love? Learn how to draw Everlasting daisies. Spend the morning of Valentine's Day with Sandra Johnston, an experienced botanical artist who specialises in coloured pencils.
During this workshop you will learn:
- How to select your flower specimen and compose them for drawing.
- How to best use colour to capture the form and beauty of these flowers.
- Learn through guided drawing exercises led by Sandra.
- Techniques to build your confidence and creativity.
- A relaxed and playful way to reintroduce or introduce yourself to botanical drawing.
- Create your own masterpiece to take home, framed, ready to be admired by everyone.
All art materials are provided. No experience necessary. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (a great workshop to do together).
Please note: Workshop will be held in the Goodman Lecture Theatre, Goodman Building at the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The nearest gate is on Hackney Road.

Sandra Johnston has always loved art and the wonderous beauty of plants and has combined the two over many years of creative effort. Her botanic career began in 2012 when she joined the Art Group at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, and since then she has been very successful in exhibitions both locally and interstate, with many of her works admired and purchased by collectors overseas.
Sandra is an advocate for lifelong learning and believes that a willingness to share is the pathway for enduring success.
