Blueberry 'Denise'
Vaccinium corymbosum 'Denise'A self-pollinating high chill blueberry with large tangy, mid-blue fruit, flushed red around the stem. A highbush variety with heavy yields that’s popular with home gardeners, but not suited to commercial production due to the juicy fruit. Fruit has a distinct, tangy flavour that's great for cooking and eating fresh.

Blueberry 'Denise'
High chill variety. Blueberries prefer an acidic soil with a pH of 4.5-5.5. Improve soils prior to planting with decomposed manure and compost. This is especially important in clay soils as blueberries prefer a free-draining soil high in organic matter. Check your pH and if you need to lower it further apply elemental sulphur. Plant in a sunny position protected from wind. Mulch with pine needles. Apply a complete fertiliser in spring. While tolerant of part shade, full sun is required for optimal fruiting. Self pollinating but may increase fruit set with 'Blue Rose' or 'Reka'.
