Baby Broccoli 'Happy Rich' f1
A perfect smaller variety for the compact vegetable patch. Harvest the stems, flowers and leaves which can be stir-fried or steamed for delicious results. Prolong the harvest by picking before the flower buds open. Yields 750g per plant.
The most deserving of crops that is both both delicious and nutrious, teaming with anti oxidants. Brocolli can be grown year round in cooler climates, the utiquitous white cabbage butterfly is always a problem as weather warms. Either use controls like netting and dipel or grow in cooler. Like all Brassicas, prefer slightly alkaline soil, they can be continually harvested for up to 3 months. Prepare the ground with plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Pick the central head first, encouraging prolific side shoots and do not allow it to flower as production will cease.
