'Moonshine' brings a delightful shade of yellow over a long period to cottage, coastal, naturalistic or perennial style gardens, perfectly off-set by its finely disected distinctive grey-green foliage. Achilleas prefer a position in full sun in a free-draining soil. Tolerant of poor soils, drainage is paramount, so incorporate grit and raise beds to improve drainage if necessary. Water periodically throughout summer for optimal growth and flowering, although plants will tolerate drought once established. Avoid waterlogged soils. Do not over-fertilise as achilleas may show reduced flowering in highly fertile soils. Cut back spent flower stems to induce repeat flowering. Tolerant of frost and coastal conditions. Dislikes humidity. Cut back in winter to a low clump to encourage fresh spring growth.
