Growing food plants is really important but hardy flowers should also be at the centre of our thoughts and gardens.
Whether planted into pots, scattered into different beds or in a meadow or bed of their own; they look beautiful, provide seasonal affirmation, attract birds, butterflies and beneficial insects and can be used as companion plants to mask or repel pests.
Many are also edible or make beautiful cut flowers, lasting well in vases to lift your spirits inside the home as well as in the garden.
Flowers often have an unruly wildness that comforts and inspires; with hardy flowers, you have less work in caring for them and more time to enjoy them
