At the Diggers Club, we’re passionate about supporting all gardeners to enjoy the many benefits of growing from seed.
Our Sow & Grow Vegetables learning series provides you with everything you need to grow the good stuff; the seeds, the tools, the support and the knowledge.
From Wednesday 29th March to Sunday 2nd April come along and enjoy:
- Join us for a live broadcast of Gardening Club, direct from the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
- Free garden workshops, demonstration sessions and advice from our Diggers experts every day from 10am-3pm
- A spectacular display of heirloom annual and perennial flowers
- Rare and unusual food plants for home gardeners
- Summer mini-plot Foodcube demonstration planted out with a selection of warm season crops

Who is Sow & Grow for?
This is our first Sow & Grow learning series. We’re going to kick things off with gardeners growing across Victoria.
Whether you’re a seed sowing novice, you’ve tried and need our help, or you’re looking to upskill, Sow and Grow Vegetables offers practical, easy to understand advice for all levels of gardener.
And it doesn’t matter if you have a balcony, yard or garden, Sow & Grow Vegetables has been designed for gardeners to enjoy success whatever your space.
For gardeners based in other states, stay tuned for our future Sow and Grow learning series.
What will I learn?
Over six lessons, you’ll be given expert advice to enjoy a harvest of heirloom vegetables, from choosing the right seeds and setting yourself up for continual harvest to caring for and transplanting seedlings.

Join a community of Sow & Grow’ers - There’ll be opportunities to ask questions and share your progress along the way with fellow Sow & Grow’ers and our growing experts.

Whilst you will receive your lesson on the above dates, you do not need to carry out the tasks that day.
Meet the expert
Anna-Lize Pretorius is our Head of Seeds and has dedicated the past 17 years to building and protecting The Diggers Club's remarkable seed collection.
Passionate about discovering exceptional new varieties and safeguarding heirloom seeds, she works to ensure these valuable varieties remain available for generations to come.
As the creator of our Sow and Grow educational program, Anna-Lize presents the weekly video lessons and shares her extensive knowledge to help participants to confidently sow and grow their own thriving vegie gardens.

Which seeds will I receive?
You’ll receive eight packets of Diggers heirloom vegetable seeds. These are seeds that can be planted during the Sow & Grow Diggers Vegetable Seed Sowing Guide, Vegetables learning series and harvested through spring and summer.
There’s a range of seeds that can be sown directly into their final growing position and some to be grown in punnets and transplanted into the garden.
