Tree Fuchsia
Fuchsia arborescens prefers a sheltered position with dappled shade, away from strong winds and heavy frost. It thrives in fertile, moist, and well-drained soils rich in organic matter, benefiting from regular mulching to maintain consistent soil moisture and temperature. In cooler climates, it is best grown in a protected microclimate, such as near a wall or under a high canopy, to shield it from cold snaps. Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in summer, but avoid waterlogging. Light pruning after flowering will encourage a bushier habit and maintain its natural shape. In cooler zones, it can also be grown in large pots and moved under cover during winter. Feeding with a balanced, organic fertiliser in spring supports strong flowering and growth.
