Water Spinach
This subtropical perennial is a popular Asian green that thrives in warm weather. It has a mild, distinct taste that is sweet and nutty. In cooler climates, it is grown as an annual as it is frost tender. It can be grown as an aquatic plant submersed in water but will also grow in wet areas of your garden. Harvest by cutting close to the base, new shoots will reshoot and harvest again in a few days.
The best planting position is if you have a pond or a boggy area in your garden where there is constant moisture. Water spinach requires a warm location in full sun. If you live in cooler areas place in a protected position away from cool winds. it is a heavy feeder that requires high nitrogen fertiliser. In warmer climates keep restricted as it can become invasive in ideal environments
