Verbena rigidaA low growing perennial which produces an abundance of violet purple flowers that are displayed for months on end. Great amongst perennials, and perfect scrambling under shrubs in parched and tired soil. Withstanding dry, sun scorched and windswept conditions, this vervain is as tough as it is beautiful.

Verbena rigida
Highly vigorous and readily self-seeds and can spread through underground rhizomes. Can be invasive. Incredibly hardy and drought - tolerant. Remove spent flowers regularly to prevent seed spreading and prune to the ground when flowering finishes in autumn. Not suitable near bushland or pasture.
