Mountain Chives
A very uncommon chive, the tight swirls of curled blue-grey leaves are ornamental and edible. During summer, a profusion of lilac-pink pompoms of edible flowers are frequented by butterflies and beneficial insects. Mountain Chives are compact and very useful as an edging plant for the vegetable parterre or herb garden.
Drought tolerant once established, plants do best in a free-draining soil in full sun. Also suitable for pots and raised beds.
