Hill's Fig
The ultimate lush tree, Hill's Fig can also be grown as a large hedge or pruned for topiary. In low rainfall areas, it has the perfect shape to provide dense shade. In areas of summer rainfall, like Sydney, it will have buttressed roots and grow almost as large as a Moreton Bay Fig. In small gardens, maintain by keeping the trunk clear and clipping the foliage regularly to maintain dense growth. Fast growth rate.
Plant in full sun in moist, well drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Popular for pleaching, topiary and hedging, prune regularly to promote density and maintain size and shape. Alternatively, plant in an open position with space for its magnificent spreading canopy.
