Bean Snake 'Red Noodle' (Organic)

A striking addition to the vegie patch, Snake Bean ‘Red Noodle’ produces long, glossy burgundy pods up to 45cm, packed with flavour and crunch. Highly productive in warm climates, it thrives through summer when other beans fade. Grown up a trellis, it’s both ornamental and edible, making harvests easy and eye-catching. Best picked young and tender for stir-fries, curries or steaming. A must for heat-loving gardens. Seeds kindly donated by Arno King.

How to grow

Grow as you would other beans. Fast growing tender annuals, plant in full sun in a soil enriched with organic matter witha pH between 5.5-7.5. Sow seed direct when soil temperature is between 16-29 degrees C and there is no likelihood of frost. Stake at sowing. Seed should germinate within 6-15 days and seedlings should be protected from snails and slugs. Water regularly and when plants start cropping, pick daily to maximise your harvest.
