Aeonium 'Velour'
Another aeonium from the `Atropurpureum' stable from which the jet black `Schwarzkopf' was selected. This one has a more rounded form with compact rosettes that retain a green centre - a vivid contrast to the deep burgundy of the outer leaves. This aeonium doesn't form a trunk, but spreads like a ground cover, making it a useful addition to gravel gardens and in small courtyards. Suitable for pots.
Contrary to popular belief, aeoniums do not like hot or dry weather, but don't worry, they are an efficient succulent, becoming dormant until temperatures and soil moisture is suitable. Avoid watering while dormant in summer.
