A Diggers exclusive, ‘Uncle Tony’s La Stupenda’ is a large, round, red beefsteak tomato that's best suited to sauces and passatas due to its high flesh to seed ratio. With large fruit averaging between 500-600 grams, some fruit will reach a whopping 800 grams!

A Diggers exclusive is ‘Uncle Tony’s La Stupenda’. Donated to The Diggers Club by internationally renowned Australian artist and photographer Bill Henson, this is Bill’s Uncle Tony Caruso's tomato, which was originally brought out to Australia from Italy in the 1970s. A prized family heirloom, Clive Blazey initially tasted it in 2019, and after trialling it in our own gardens, we are pleased to offer this high-yielding beefsteak to Diggers Members.
