This bushy evergreen salvia makes a statement in the garden with its 30cm-long flower spikes from mid summer right through autumn. Grape-blue coloured bracts offset the downy white to pale lavender-blue flowers, held above the elegantly pointed sage-green leaves. A long-flowering stalwart for the back of the border.

Salvia 'Phyllis Fancy'

A particularly long flowering (4-5 months) salvia with muted tones suited to most garden styles, Salvia 'Phyllis Fancy' deserves a place in any sunny border or mixed planting. Attractive to birds, bees and beneficial pollinators, this much loved garden-worthy variety is an easy care perennial that keeps on giving, year after year. A stalwart in our Diggers gardens that extends the flowering season right through autumn to winter, with its tidy rounded form of elegant evergreen foliage adding permanent structure when other herbaceous perennials die down.
How to grow

Plant in full sun in well drained soil with some wind protection due to its height. Drought and coast tolerant once established, though enjoys supplementary summer watering. Regularly deadhead to extend flowering and cut back hard at the end of the flowering season to ensure a well rounded shape.
