Oregano 'Rosenkuppel'
An ornamental oregano with deep purple bracts topped with pinky-mauve flowers in delicate sprays above the dark green foliage in spring to summer. A tough and dry-tolerant performer, ‘Rosenkuppel’ is a colourful and low maintenance edging or front of border plant, not only for its rich showy flowers, but for its semi-evergreen mat-forming foliage that turns burgundy during cold weather to extend interest and contrast.
How to grow
Thrives in full sun, free-draining soil with good heat and drought tolerance. Performs best in soils of average fertility making it suitable for rockeries and gravel or Mediterranean style gardens. Intolerant of high humidity. Cut back spent flower stems in early spring to maintain compact habit and allow for fresh new growth. Propagate by division in spring.
