Oakleaf Hydrangea 'Snowflake'

Known as the Oakleaf Hydrangea (hence the quercifolia reference in the botanical name), its no surprise to find luxuriously contoured leaves resembling those of the oak (Quercus). Boasting elegant, elongated cone-shaped flower clusters in November, this outstanding large flowering shrub makes a dramatic statement in the garden in late spring. In late summer and autumn, the foliage turns bronze and remains so until new shoots emerge the following spring. While it gracefully sheds leaves in cooler climates, it thrives in shade and shelter due to its woodland nature. A mature specimen typically reaches a height of 2 meters and spans 2 meters wide. Unlike H. macrophylla, this hydrangea shows drought tolerance once established.
How to grow

Adequate watering is essential for robust plant growth and vibrant blooms. Maintain consistent soil moisture without over-saturation. Deep watering encourages strong root development. Notably, the Oakleaf Hydrangea exhibits greater drought resistance compared to other hydrangea varieties.
