Basil 'Holy'
Prized by Hindu culture for over 5,000 years, Holy Basil or Tulsi is common in temples and sacred places as it is believed to be the plant form of the goddess Lakshmi, and therefore contains contains great spiritual powers and significance. In the western world, this herb is also known as the Zen herb due to its calmative and restorative properties. With a flavour that is a mix of basil, clove and mint, it is also a great addition to the garden where the foliage can be used in teas, or any other dishes which call for basil. Popular with herbalists, this form of basil is regularly used in tinctures and teas.
