Asparagus 'Sweet Purple' (Plant)
The tender spears of royal purple will delight the eye as well as the palate. A light cutting of spears in the second year is followed by increasing harvests for the next 20 years. Higher in sugar than green varieties, the natural sweetness is best enjoyed fresh from the garden.
How to grow
Plant to a depth of 5-7cm to completely cover the crown. Mulch well to prevent weed growth. Spears will emerge in late winter/early spring.
