The large green leaves make it an ideal ground cover for full sun or semi shade and they thrive in poor soils. 'Winterglow' also known as 'Winterglut' provides a welcome change from the common pink form with warm-red flowers standing tall above almost-black stems during winter and early spring. The foliage changes hue in autumn and winter bringing colour to your garden for three out of the four seasons.

Bergenia 'Winter Glow'
Best in partial to full shade, but will tolerate sun in cooler climates. A great option as a bridging plant in those tricky positions that require both shade and sun tolerance. Copes well with brief periods of dryness but prefers moist, rich soil. Remove spent flowering stems and prune off foliage damaged by heat or cold through the seasons. Protect from snails and slugs.
