Helleborus argutifolius

Also known as Holly-leaved Hellebore or Corsican Hellebore, this species hellebore is very different to other Hellebore hybrids due to its clusters of flowers held above ornate, dramatically toothed foliage. Worth growing for the foliage alone, the margin of each leathery leaf is coarsely spined and offer contrast and colour in the garden throughout the year.
How to grow

Hellebores are resilient garden plants and are best grown in the ground. Remove old foliage when new growth appears in autumn. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or quality compost at this time too. Watch for aphids and spray if necessary. Deadhead spend flowers to encourage increased flowering.
