Pomegranate 'Jodhpur Red'
With fruit that blushes red when ripe, the soft light pink arils (the flesh and seeds inside the fruit’s hard outer shell) are very sweet and juicy, making this an extremely popular variety for pomegranate juice. A lovely edible and ornamental tree with excellent drought tolerance.
Pomegranates grow well in areas with cold winters and hot, dry summers. Drought tolerant once established, pomegranates will also tolerate coastal conditions and frost. Water during fruiting to improve quality and fruit set. Plant in a free-draining soil as trees dislike waterlogging. Plants are self-fertile but yield is improved with cross-pollination.
