Red Spider Lily (3 Bulbs)

Native to China but acknowledged in Japan as early as 700AD, the flowering of the Red Spider Lily coincides with the impending arrival of autumn, and has such, become a popular flowering plant throughout Japan. In China Red Spider Lily has been associated with unrequited love and resurrection. Regardless of its mysterious past, its beauty is undeniable.

How to grow

Red spider lily prefers a position in part shade, especially in hot climates. Plant in a free-draining soil enriched with aged compost and manure. Position bulbs with their neck just above soil level. Space bulbs 10cm apart and plant in swathes for maximum impact. Also suited to pots and containers. Allow soil to dry in summer to encourage maximum flowering. Avoid transplanting if possible to encourage improved flowering.
