Humulus lupulusAn ornamental climber or must-have for the home brewer, Hops 'Cascade' is a fast-growing perennial climber that provides welcome summer shade, then dies back to the ground in the winter to let in the sun. Producing female flowers known as strobiles, these are popular as a stability agent in beer, imparting aromatic flavours balanced with bitterness. Cascades are extremely popular throughout the world and most widely used in American Pale Ales.
