Bird'S Nest Fern
This beautiful epiphytic, rosette-shaped fern with broad lance shaped fronds protruding from a central region is much loved as a fernery mainstay, rockery plant or resilient indoor feature. It's long bold undivided fronds unfurl slowly, vibrant green with a distinctive dark midrib. Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society, it is native to eastern Australian.
How to grow
Requires a shaded or filtered light position, avoid direct sunlight. Prefers a moist environment, but will tolerate periods of dryness. Apply indoor plant food to the plant's centre. Protect from snails and slugs.
