Achillea clypeolataFronds of fine silver foliage give rise to flattened umbels of bright yellow flowers. A well behaved clump-forming Achillea forming thick tufts of finely dissected silver leaves, without the tendency to run. Removing spent flowers will continue the display well into autumn. Excellent as a cut flower, fresh or dried.

Achillea clypeolata
Achilleas prefer a position in full sun in a free-draining soil. Tolerant of poor soils, drainage is paramount, so incorporate grit and raise beds to improve drainage if necessary. Water periodically throughout summer for optimal growth and flowering, although plants will tolerate drought once established. Avoid waterlogged soils. Do not over-fertilise as achilleas may show reduced flowering in highly fertile soils. Non-invasive and less prone to spreading than other achillea varieties. Remove spent flowers to continue the display well into autumn. Frost, coast and drought tolerant once established.
