5 steps on growing Asian greens
- As seedlings tend to run to seed (or bolt) if transplanted, sow directly into the garden
- These vegetables thrive in a fertile, well-drained soil
- Dig in compost or manure, as well as blood and bone, before planting
- Make some shallow grooves no more than 1cm deep and about 30cm apart,
- Sow sparsely, backfilling with soil to cover the seeds
