ADELAIDE: Join the Diggers Club for an introductory workshop which combines edible and ornamental gardening. Have both beauty and production in your garden. Getting the two to subtly mesh together effectively takes skill and an appreciation of both the art and the science. This workshop will discuss elements of design, edible and ornamental plant combinations, color, texture and much much more, to ensure your good design practice increases productivity at home, while reducing maintenance, and ultimately giving you a garden to also visually enjoy.

Learn

  • Dual purpose ornamental and edible plant species
  • Application of edible trees, shrubs, climbers and smaller plants can be used across the whole landscape and in different home garden situations.
  • How edible plants are incorporated into different garden styles including Mediterranean, subtropical, formal style, and what plants would be suitable in each context.

Hugh Hunkin has a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) and a Permaculture Design Certificate. He has presented various edible plants and design workshops for Diggers and is an expert on soils and composting.
