Garlic 'Flinders Island Purple' (2 heads) Organic
Large rounded purple hardneck garlic, grown on Flinders Island, this Australian variety produces large easy to peel cloves that stores well for 4-5 months. Most likely originated from the variety 'New Zealand' purple which is a no fuss easy to grow form, which the Flinders Island growers have perfected and made their own.
How to grow
Planting tips: Break the head into individual cloves and plant them pointy end up, about 7cm apart in a well-prepared bed. Cover with 2–7cm of soil (deeper in warmer climates, shallower in cooler climates) and mulch to prevent weeds competing with your bulbs. A slow-growing crop, allocate garden room for at least 6–9 months. Water when required or during periods of drought while actively growing. Harvest when tops die down. Dry and store.
