Decorative and delicious fruit is marked with pronounced blue-striped skin, encasing sweet, purple flesh within. Once more widely grown, `Blue Provence' was initially listed in Goodmans Fruit Catalogue in 1911. Figs are among the richest source of Calcium, with high levels of Manganese, Magnesium and Vitamin K. These summer fruit are best eaten fresh but can be dried or used to make incredibly sweet jams. Fig cordons grown in containers become naturally dwarfed, and ideal for balconies and small backyards.
