Shrub rose, 1927: Bred in Meilland, France in 1927 for hot summer climates just like ours here in southern Australia. This rose has all the charm and romance of old-fashioned roses but it repeats, is disease-resistant and has a neat, shrubby habit. Huge, heavy, pink blooms can have more than 60 petals in a single flower and a single bush can bear dozens of flowers at any one time making the air rich with a delicate tea-rose fragrance.
