This is the tree that lights up forests in Canada and the US. With the Great Barrier Reef almost destroyed by fertiliser run off from sugar cane crops, it's time to grow our own maple sugar and bring carbon back to earth. Plant in full sun in deep, free-draining soil that is kept moist for best results. Autumn colour will be more vibrant in cool temperatures with clear, sunny skies.
