Swamp Cypress
A deciduous conifer from the everglades, where its lacy needle-like leaves are often covered in Spanish moss. The fine feathery foliage is bright green in spring and summer, colouring to brilliant orange in autumn. An ideal specimen tree that loves humid summers – it even thrives in water, just like a lotus. Perfect for moist or inundated areas, such as dams or lawns that don’t dry out. An ideal choice to bring carbon to earth, with evidence from research into carbon accumulation at the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens finding that the Swamp Cypress can offset the carbon emissions of almost one person. Medium growth rate.
Thrives in moist, humid conditions, and is ideal for planting in dams, inundated areas or lawns that don't dry out. Moderate growth habit.
