A clumping salvia best maintained through annual pruning and shaping to maintain a compact mounded habit. Hardy once established, this blue flowering shrub is well suited to areas with hot summers and cold winters. Tolerant of light frost. Cut back in late summer. Popular with small birds and beneficial insects.
Plant in full sun in a well drained soil with supplementary water in extended dry periods. Needs minimal pruning, with a light tidy up for shape in late summer to maintain dense growth habit. Will tolerate light shade.
